‘The Grace Labyrinth’ to appear in Litro Magazine

“We moved away from the factory and back into the maze of walk-ups, the network of concrete recursion where each apartment reflected itself a dozen times over in the structure opposite or beside. Only in the soft marbling of soot and water damage was there any variance.”

“The Grace Labyrinth” will appear as part of Litro Magazine‘s #StorySunday feature on May 21st.

The piece is a rumination on the impermanence of love and the elusiveness of redemption. Two acquaintances lose themselves in a former colonial slum: one is searching out his lover in a deluded attempt to apologize for an unforgivable act; the other is wandering only for the sake of wandering, procrastinating his return to a marriage he no longer understands. But despite their efforts, they find only frustration and disappointment at every street corner. Look for it soon.
